French Ambassador on an official working visit to Alkaloid

A delegation from the French Embassy, headed by His Excellency Mr. Christophe Le Rigoleur, paid an official working visit to Alkaloid AD Skopje. Hosted by the CEO and President of the Management Board, Mr. Zhivko Mukaetov, the diplomatic team gained insights into the company’s operations, financial performance, business activities, production efficiency, and product portfolio, during the visit.


Ambassador Le Rigoleur toured the company’s museum and, over a decade‑by‑decade chronology, explored Alkaloid’s nine-decade corporate history and steady growth and development – from its origins as a modest pharmaceutical site to a modern global brand supported by over 3,000 dedicated employees.

The official working visit of the French diplomatic delegation also included a tour of the manufacturing facilities in the Pharmaceuticals segment and a visit to the company’s Research and Development Institute, where they observed advanced technological processes and cutting-edge methodologies for developing new pharmaceutical formulations and products.

During the working meeting, discussions focused on the company’s key strategic priorities: a strong export orientation, ongoing capital investments, investments in employee education and requalification programs, timely adoption and exemplary implementation of ESG standards, socially responsible initiatives, and a strategic commitment to sustainable growth and global market differentiation.


As one of the world’s foremost pharmaceutical nations, France is a key international partner for Alkaloid, maintaining long-term, successful cooperation with several leading French pharmaceutical companies, including Sanofi Aventis, Sanofi Pasteur, Ethypharm, Saint-Gobain, and others. France is among the top five global pharmaceutical markets, with its advanced industry responsible for approximately 3% of worldwide drug production and making a significant impact on pharmaceutical research, development, and exports.

The French Ambassador’s official working visit is of particular importance to the company, offering an excellent opportunity to deepen existing partnerships and explore new synergies between Alkaloid and French pharmaceutical companies.
