American Chamber of Commerce Re-elects Zhivko Mukaetov as Board of Directors Member


The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) held its 25th General Assembly yesterday, celebrating a significant milestone – a quarter-century of continuous commitment to strengthening the domestic economy, improving the business environment, fostering the exchange of best practices, and advocating for the interests of its members, which today include more than 150 entities across the country.



At this year’s General Assembly of the American Chamber of Commerce, Zhivko Mukaetov, CEO and President of the Management Board of Alkaloid AD Skopje, was re-elected for the second time as a member of its Board of Directors, once again reaffirming both his personal commitment and the company’s long-standing dedication to transparency, integrity, and active participation in building a more favorable business climate.


Alkaloid has been a proud member of AmCham North Macedonia since its establishment in 2000. Our company actively supports its mission and participates in its initiatives, reflecting our commitment to responsible business conduct. AmCham provides a valuable platform for collaboration with leading U.S. and local companies and enables constructive dialogue on policy, competitiveness, and economic development.



In addition to Mr. Mukaetov, the newly elected Board of Directors includes Ognjen Lazić (Skopska Pivara), Dragan Davitkov (PwC), Aleksandra Ivanovska (Roche), and Konstantinos Nikolaou (Titan Usje). The Board’s work is primarily focused on strengthening regional cooperation and deepening collaboration with key government institutions and the U.S. Embassy. One of its core objectives is to motivate and unite AmCham members to act as a strong, collective voice for the progressive business community. Today, the AmCham network across Europe brings together 49 chambers.



Following the official program, a formal jubilee reception was held, attended by representatives of state institutions, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, and member companies. The event once again highlighted AmCham’s role as a vital bridge between the public and private sectors, a catalyst for strategic partnerships, and an initiator of meaningful structural reforms.
